Close collaboration, specialist expertise and support for complex PPE challenges
Personal protective equipment is becoming increasingly specialised. New standards, evolving legislation and more complex working environments demand more than simply supplying products. That is why PIP | HSP represents more than another brand in our portfolio.

Supplier and PPE knowledge partner
Organisations are increasingly looking for a PPE supplier that offers more than just personal protective equipment. They need a partner with the know-how to advise on workplace risks, product selection and the practical use of PPE.
This is one of the reasons many companies choose Safety Products. Thanks to our years of experience and extensive product knowledge, we actively help customers find the right solutions. In addition, we work closely with leading manufacturers and suppliers.
PIP is not only a leading manufacturer and supplier of PPE, but also a valuable knowledge partner in the field of personal protective equipment. Working closely with PIP gives our customers direct access to specialist product expertise, technical support and international know-how.
For our customers, this results in an efficient and reliable PPE solution. With a well-structured product range and high-quality products designed for real-world applications, they save time, reduce unnecessary costs and contribute to a safer working environment.
From Honeywell Safety Products to PIP
Protective Industrial Products (PIP) has acquired Honeywell’s Personal Protective Equipment division. As a result, the former Honeywell Safety Products division is now part of PIP.
For the time being, we use the name PIP | HSP on our website to make the transition recognisable. The rebranding is being introduced in phases and varies by product category and region.
In practice, however, very little changes for users. Product quality, certifications and technical specifications remain the same. The Honeywell brand name will gradually be phased out, with products continuing under one of the brands within the PIP House of Brands, depending on the product category.

PIP | HSP: A House of Brands
Over the past few years, PIP has grown into a global House of Brands for personal protective equipment. In addition to the former Honeywell Safety Products division, the group also includes several specialised brands, such as:
- PIP | HSP personal protective equipment
- Grippaz nitrile gloves
- KCL for chemical protective gloves
- Howard Leight for hearing protection
- North for respiratory protection
- MTS safety footwear
As a result, PIP has built an extensive network network of product specialists and technical experts. For Safety Products, this means direct access to up-to-date product knowledge, specialist advice and practical solutions for complex workplace safety challenges.
A partnership built on knowledge and experience
At Safety Products, we work with organisations across a wide range of sectors, including food processing, logistics, industry, engineering and manufacturing. We are regularly asked questions that go beyond standard product advice.
Which chemical protective glove provides adequate protection against a specific cleaning agent? Which hearing protection is best suited to a particular noise level? What combination of PPE is the most practical for a production environment? This is where our collaboration with PIP really adds value.
As a result of our close working relationship with product managers, technical specialists and manufacturer experts, we can respond quickly whenever additional know-how is required. We regularly discuss customer enquiries relating to chemical hand protection, hearing protection and other PPE challenges. This enables us to support our customers with practical knowledge and advice that goes beyond what can be found in a product catalogue.

KCL: specialists in chemical hand protection
A good example is KCL, part of PIP. For decades, KCL is widely recognised across Europe as a specialist in chemical protective gloves.
While many organisations focus primarily on the EN ISO 374 standard, KCL also considers real-world conditions by assessing the chemicals that workers are actually exposed to.
KCL operates its own laboratory and maintains the extensive ChemPro database, containing test data for more than 350,000 chemicals and chemical mixtures. This enables glove recommendations to be based on real application data rather than standard laboratory tests alone.
For organisations working with cleaning and disinfecting agents, acids, alkalis or other hazardous chemicals, this can make a significant difference.
More than just product advice
Choosing the right PPE may seem straightforward. In practice, however, the level of protection depends on a range of factors. These include the exact chemical composition of a product, the duration of exposure to hazardous substances, the working temperature, the mechanical stress placed on a glove and the combination of multiple workplace hazards.
In these situations, therefore, a complete PPE solution is often more effective than selecting individual products.
As a result of the collaboration between PIP and Safety Products, organisations benefit from specialist support. This includes product selection, risk assessments, toolbox talks, user training, technical product advice and glove selection plans for chemical and mechanical hazards.
The aim is to make sure the right product is selected and used correctly in the workplace.
What does the transition to PIP mean for customers?
For most users, very little changes at present. Many products still carry the familiar Honeywell name while the rebranding is being introduced gradually. Product quality, certifications and technical support remain unchanged. As part of PIP, customers also benefit from the combined knowledge and expertise of several specialist PPE brands.
Why this partnership matters
When it comes to workplace safety, it is rarely just about the product itself. It is about managing risks within a specific working environment. Our partnership with PIP enables us to respond quickly to a wide range of PPE-related challenges, whether it is a straightforward product enquiry or a complex question about chemical protection. In the end, it comes down to the people who rely on their PPE every day.

Advice from a specialist
